The Abbey on Monroe is a new and unique wedding venue in downtown Phoenix. This venue has such a rich history that pulls couple’s hearts toward it. After decades of disrepair, this venue has been brought back to life with love. I had the privilege of being able to photograph this location before it opened. Let me tell you all about what I’ve learned about this gorgeous Phoenix wedding venue.
History of The Abbey
Originally a church built in the late 1800s and remodeled in the 1930s. It was set ablaze in 1984. After decades of care, this venue has finally been turned into the space of your wedding dreams. The Abbey combines the charm of exposed brick, stone archways, and historic architectural elements. It makes it feel both timeless and unique.
Why Choose The Abbey on Monroe For Your Phoenix Wedding Venue?
What makes this venue stand out is the flexibility it offers. Couples can get creative with its multiple open spaces. This includes a large ballroom area filled with natural light. It can hold up to 260 guests. The venue also features a stunning courtyard. There are some cute places to take some couples’ portraits such as the balconies looking down at the courtyard or in front of the brick under or on top of the stairs. There is also an elevator to get some steamy shots at. It provides a blank canvas for couples to bring their dream wedding vision to life.
The Abbey on Monroe is perfect whether you’re looking to embrace the historic character of the venue or use the create a modern, chic wedding. It offers an extraordinary backdrop for unforgettable photos. It’s especially suited for those who want a venue with character that blends romance with an urban, industrial feel.
